Your hiatus served you well. (Mom - if you're reading this, I'm shaking my head too. I mean, what is it with the shiksas, right? I could just plotz, whatever that is)!

But seriously, this is the kind of advice we need to keep in front of us. I know I'm not alone in feeling like a 16-year old in my head, occasionally wondering who in their right mind gave me imperial authority over children, pets, employees, a car, a house, and a podcast. Then I remember that I'm ____-two. That's when I tend to flee the weighty press of grown-uppedness and hibernate.

However, nothing productive ever came of sleeping in a cave, living off stored body fat and last season's salmon, dreaming of springtime forests and alluring lady bears.

Even if you have to negotiate a hard compromise between doing what you love and doing what you have to, remember that many roads lead to Rome. (That, BT dubs, because I can't help myself, was a historical reference).

Never lose sight what makes you truly immortal: the Spawn who carry your DNA and tales of your quirkiness, so that even a hundred years from now your name will still be spoken aloud. And, as ever, your words on a page...Stacey Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02309868701374837006noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6172383619630972021.post-47657963870180082322013-04-07T14:38:29.892-04:002013-04-07T14:38:29.892-04:00Welcome back, Christina! Once I gave up the ghost of the day job, my sanity returned even though the paychecks were smaller. You live once so you might as will live! Feel yourself succumbing to "is winter over yet?" Before anyone else sinks remember there is always reading and writing to be done. For some of us, that is enough! Not to mention that we all have our great dysfunctional families, to enjoy, in addition to our crazy friends and ever amusing pets (sorry Lassie had to go Stacey! Still a little mad at your Mom for that one!) As long as CFWinn, Javier Robayo, Stacey Roberts, Monica La Porta, Elise Stokes, Melissa Foster and a gazillion other indies and old school published's are writing, blogging or even facebooking, I am entertained! But yes, I noticed you were absent, CF, and feel the world just got brighter knowing you are back!!! Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17557662337179385631noreply@blogger.com
