Ode To The Praying Mantis

It took a slight breeze, the angle of the sun between the trees, and a praying mantis to transport me to exactly where I always need to be. If I knew how to slow it all down so those moments would come more often I would, but it seems that whenever I stop with the intent to make that happen, I don't get there and wind up feeling like I need to play catch up instead.

According to http://spirit-animals.com/praying-mantis/ : "Usually the Praying Mantis makes an appearance when we’ve flooded our lives with so much business, activity, or chaos that we can no longer hear the still small voice within us. Taking a step back and some simple meditation would be in order here because the external din we’ve created needs to be quieted so that we can come back to our own truth. The Praying Mantis always comes to us when we need peace, quiet and calm in our lives."

So for now, I do my best to slow down and be in the moment, because every time I do that, I have a better chance of finding myself in a better place, even if it's for just a few sweet, relief-filled moments.

Wishing anyone who reads this many blessings and multitudes of peaceful moments.
